On 8 November 2025, Marina Bayside in Taren Point proudly hosted the inaugural Southern Sydney Marine Expo, marking a significant milestone for Sydney's boating community.
This event celebrated the opening of the $20 million purpose-built facility, designed to revolutionise marine services and storage in the region.

Strategically located just minutes from Sydney Harbour, Marina Bayside offers state-of-the-art amenities, including dry boat storage for 160 vessels up to 40 feet, a travel lift, and comprehensive repair and refit services. Its all-weather, undercover environment provides boat owners with a seamless walk-on, walk-off experience, eliminating the need for trailers or ramps.

The expo attracted a diverse crowd of boating enthusiasts, marine professionals, and families, eager to explore the new facility and participate in a range of activities. Highlights included exhibits from leading marine brands showcasing the latest vessels and technologies, live performances by Australian Jet Ski Champion Jett Cavanagh, and interactive workshops such as knot-tying and kids' fishing competitions.

Attendees also enjoyed live music, gourmet food from popular Sydney food trucks, and craft beverages, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the day. The event featured exciting giveaways, including a raffle for a Cayman Inflatable Boat valued at $3,500, adding to the day's excitement.

Dane Wheeler, spokesperson for the Southern Sydney Marine Expo, emphasised the event's significance in celebrating the culture, lifestyle, and innovation that define Sydney's marine community. He highlighted Marina Bayside's role in elevating the boating experience and expressed enthusiasm for its future contributions to the industry.

The success of the inaugural Southern Sydney Marine Expo underscores the growing interest in boating within the region and sets the stage for future events that will continue to engage and inspire the marine community.
