In a strategic move to promote the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in Australia, the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) has partnered with Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) to offer discounted financing rates to EV buyers.
Announced on April 1, 2026, this initiative aims to make electric vehicles more accessible to a broader range of consumers.

Under this partnership, customers purchasing EVs from Volkswagen Group brands-including Audi, Skoda, Cupra, and Volkswagen-can access loan discounts of up to 1.0% on standard rates. This offer applies to vehicles priced below the Luxury Car Tax (LCT) threshold for fuel-efficient vehicles, set at $91,387. Notably, electric vans are also included in this scheme and are not subject to the LCT threshold.

The CEFC's collaboration with VWFS is part of a broader effort to reduce carbon emissions and encourage sustainable transportation options. By providing financial incentives, the government aims to alleviate some of the cost barriers associated with EV ownership, thereby accelerating the transition away from fossil fuel-dependent vehicles.

Industry experts view this initiative as a significant step towards achieving Australia's environmental goals. By making EVs more financially attractive, the partnership is expected to stimulate demand and drive further investment in EV infrastructure, such as charging stations and maintenance services.

Consumers interested in taking advantage of this offer are encouraged to contact their local Audi, Skoda, Cupra, or Volkswagen dealerships for more information on eligibility and application procedures. As the automotive industry continues to evolve, such collaborations between the government and private sector are crucial in facilitating a smoother transition to sustainable transportation solutions.
