Australian electric truck conversion company Janus Electric has announced the launch of its first dealer-led conversion centre in Adelaide, in partnership with Archer Heavy Equipment.
This facility marks the beginning of Janus's nationwide rollout of its heavy-vehicle electrification platform.

The Adelaide centre will complement Archer's existing operations in Fountaindale, New South Wales, and is expected to have an initial capacity to convert approximately 50 diesel trucks to electric drivetrains in its first year. Plans are in place to scale up to 150-200 conversions annually as demand increases.

This initiative comes at a time when the heavy transport industry is increasingly focusing on electric vehicles. Janus Electric's conversion centres aim to provide a practical solution for fleet operators looking to transition to electric power without the need to invest in entirely new vehicles. By retrofitting existing diesel trucks with electric drivetrains, Janus offers a cost-effective and efficient pathway to reduce emissions and operating costs.

The partnership with Archer Heavy Equipment leverages their expertise in heavy vehicle operations and expands Janus's capacity to meet the growing demand for electric truck conversions. This collaboration is a significant step towards decarbonizing Australia's heavy transport sector and aligns with the industry's broader efforts to adopt sustainable practices.

As the transport industry continues to evolve, initiatives like Janus Electric's conversion centres play a crucial role in facilitating the transition to cleaner, more efficient freight solutions. By providing accessible and scalable electrification options, Janus is contributing to the broader goal of reducing the environmental impact of heavy transport in Australia.
