Austal Limited has been awarded a contract extension valued at approximately A$150.3 million to construct two additional Evolved Cape-class Patrol Boats (ECCPBs) for the Australian Border Force (ABF).
This brings the total number of ECCPBs contracted for delivery to the ABF to six, underscoring the ongoing commitment to bolstering Australia's maritime security capabilities.

The Evolved Cape-class Patrol Boats are designed to support a wide range of missions, including border protection, fisheries enforcement, and national security operations. These vessels feature expanded accommodation for up to 32 personnel, enhanced quality-of-life systems, and advanced sustainment technologies to maximise operational availability.

Construction of the two new patrol boats will take place at Austal's Henderson shipyard in Western Australia, further contributing to the nation's sovereign shipbuilding industry. The addition of these vessels reflects continued confidence in the platform's performance and Austal's delivery capability.

For prospective boat owners and enthusiasts, this development highlights the strength and growth of Australia's maritime industry. The expansion of the patrol boat fleet not only enhances national security but also stimulates the marine sector, potentially influencing market dynamics and opportunities within the industry.
