UK-based electric fleet leasing company Zenobē has announced a substantial investment of $100 million AUD aimed at accelerating the adoption of electric trucks across Australia.
This initiative seeks to more than double the current number of electric trucks in the country, increasing the fleet from approximately 1,000 to 2,000 by the end of 2026.

Zenobē's investment will focus on procuring new electric trucks for commercial operators and developing the necessary ecosystem to support them. This includes establishing charging infrastructure, facilitating battery replacements, and ensuring efficient deployment strategies. The overarching goal is to match or even reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) of electric fleets compared to traditional diesel counterparts.

With over half of Australia's truck fleet now more than a decade old, many operators are approaching critical decisions regarding vehicle replacements. Zenobē's initiative provides a timely solution, offering access to modern, zero-emission vehicles that align with global sustainability trends and regulatory shifts towards cleaner transport solutions.

By addressing key barriers such as high upfront costs and limited charging infrastructure, Zenobē aims to make the transition to electric trucks more accessible for a broader range of operators. This move is expected to significantly contribute to reducing the transport sector's carbon footprint and enhancing the resilience of Australia's supply chains.

For fleet operators considering the shift to electric vehicles, this investment presents an opportunity to modernise their fleets with support from a company experienced in electric fleet management. The combination of financial backing and infrastructure development is poised to make electric truck adoption a viable and attractive option for many businesses.
